But man has brought human society to the verge of total destruction. He has used his intelligence to pollute the land he lives on, the air he breathes and the water that is the very source of his life. He has turned the mind which is the instrument of his liberation into a chain that keeps him in bondage. He has used methods of Education, Codes of Law, Systems of Politics, Modes of Commerce and Results of Science to imprison himself in prejudices, creeds and nationalities. The world is becoming smaller and smaller with every increase in the speed of communication, but neighbourly Love is nowhere evident. Man truly lives when he feels one with All.
A Revolution - more powerful and pervasive than any that man has undergone so far - neither political, economic, scientific, nor technological but deeper and more basic is now on. It is the spiritual Revolution. It sharpens the inner vision of man so that he can see his Atmic (Soul) Reality. Its impact will surely envelop and enrich all human communities and transform mankind into a spiritual stream flowing smoothly to the limitless sea of Divinity.
The Revolution has Love as both means and end. It will awaken the springs of Love all over the world in the fields of Education, Morality, Law, Politics, Commerce and Science. It will inspire man to loving Service revealing the Brotherhood of Man and the Fatherhood of God. Everyone wherever he lives whatever his status and which ever his faith can share in this Revolution and be an instrument for the liberation of mankind from its own ignorance.
The task of everyone is to do the Duty that has come upon him, with a full sense of responsibility to the utmost of his capacity. There should be complete coordination between what one feels, says and does. Work is the best form of Worship. I am exhorting the youth of the world to participate eagerly in various acts of service to the poor and the disabled. In the colleges I have established, I insist that the students should progress not merely in academic scholarship, but more in social service and in developing skills which will make them useful to the community. Hard work and selfless service - these two alone can make our world united, strong and prosperous. I call upon everyone to fill the world with joy. Service to the human community is the best offering you can make to the Sovereign Lord. -----
As many know, the scriptures of every major religion promise further revelations with the return of a great spiritual teacher. Hindus expect Krishna (or the Kalki Avatar), Christians
hope for the return of Christ, Jews await the Messiah, Moslems look for the Imam Mahdi or Messiah, and Buddhists anticipate the Fifth (Maitreya) Buddha. According to esoteric teachings all of these are different names for the same individual: the World Teacher, whose personal name is Maitreya (My-TRAY-uh). He is the leader of the Spiritual Hierarchy of Masters (also known as the Great White Brotherhood, the Church Invisible, the Spiritual Hierarchy). It is a group of very advanced beings who guide humanity's evolution from behind the scenes. Maitreya has led the Hierarchy for the past 2,600 years. His energies work through men and women of goodwill everywhere, regardless of religious, philosophical, or political affiliations.
Preferring to be known simply as 'the Teacher', He has not come as a religious leader or to found a new religion, but as teacher and guide for people of every religion and those of no religion. He and the other Masters of Wisdom will inspire humanity to create a civilization characterized by brotherhood, justice, and right human relationships based upon a more equitable sharing of the world's resources.
