Gautama Buddha anticipated Maitreya
"Now in those days, brethren, there shall arise in the world an Exalted One by name Maitreya (the Kindly One) an Arhat, a Fully
Enlightened One, endowed with wisdom and righteousness, a Happy One, a World-knower, the Peerless Charioteer of men to be tamed, a teacher of the devas (angels) and mankind, an Exalted One, a Buddha like myself. He of His own abnormal powers shall realize and make known the world, and the worlds of the devas, with their Maras, their Brahmas, the host of recluses and brahmins, of devas and mankind alike, even as I do now. He shall proclaim the norm, lovely in its beginning, lovely in its middle, and lovely in the end thereof. He shall make known the wholly perfect life of righteousness in all its purity, both in the spirit and in the letter of it, even as I do now. He shall lead an Order of Brethren numbering many thousands, even as I do now lead an order of Brethren numbering many hundreds." (Gautama Buddha in DIGHA NIKAYA)
The Buddha
The Buddha no longer has a dense physical vehicle but resides on the highest center of our planet, Shamballa, which is in matter of the two highest ethers in the Gobi desert. He acts as the 'Divine Intermediary' between Shamballa and Hierarchy, bringing the Plan from Shamballa to the three Great Lords of Hierarchy (the Christ, the Manu, and the Lord of Civilization) Who approximate the Plan to the possible and work it out through humanity. He is the brother of Maitreya. They were among the first group of Earth humanity take initiation, several thousand years ago.By giving out the Four Noble Truths, the Buddha answered man's question: why? and taught that man's suffering was of his own making. He taught that desire for the material and the ephemeral was the cause of all misery. Coming approximately 500 years before the Christ, the Buddha was a manifestation of the Wisdom aspect of God, just as the Christ is the embodiment of the Love aspect. These two great Avatars continue to work together, the Buddha aiding and supporting Maitreya, the Christ, in His present mission to the world.
While many Buddhists look forward to the Reappearance of Maitreya, the Fifth Buddha or the Bodhisattva, Christians anticipate the return of the Christ, Jews-the Messiah, Hindus-Krishna, and Moslems-the Imam Mahdi or the Messiah. Students of the esoteric tradition known that these names all refer to the same individual: the World Teacher and Head of the Spiritual Hierarchy of Masters (the Great White Brotherhood). His personal name is Maitreya (My-TRAY-ah). He is now in London (in a physical body) and is gradually becoming known to people everywhere. He is the One both Gautama Buddha and St. Paul called the Teacher alike of angels (devas) and men.
Preferring to be known simply as 'the Teacher', He has not come as a religious leader or to found a new religion, but as teacher and guide for people of every religion and those of no religion. He has come "like a thief in the night," (Peter 3:10) when least expected. He is returning for the good of everyone, both the religious and non-religious alike, much earlier than many think possible.
The Day of Declaration
Soon on the Day of Declaration, He will present His credentials to all of humanity. On this day, "every eye shall see Him."(Rv.1:7) Everyone will (simultaneously) hear his voice inwardly-- telepathically in their own language. At the same time, we will all deeply feel His omnipotent love and hundreds of thousands of spontaneous healings will take place throughout the world.As many might imagine, one of His highest priorities is to inspire us to work to eliminate hunger and starvation in this world where an estimated 35,000 die of hunger each day as tons of food rots in warehouses (& there is a 10% excess of food per capita). He will ask us to share the bountiful resources of this earth with all of our brothers who are in need.
After the Day of Declaration several Masters will join Maitreya on the world stage. Each will have different functions depending upon His particular line of work. Some will teach, while others will be concerned more with world problems of a political & economic nature. Still others will inspire the new architecture, painting & music, while the attention of some will be directed to science & the inspiration of the new 'holistic' science, integrating science & religion.
The Masters of Wisdom and Compassion (aka Buddhas, Mahatmas, Adepts) have passed through all the experiences that life in this world offers and, in the process, have acquired total mastery over themselves and the laws of nature. They are custodians of the Plan of Evolution and all the energies entering this planet which bring about the fulfillment of the Plan (for a beautiful new enlightened civilization). None of them wish to be worshipped or idolized. It is everyone's destiny to eventually evolve to their current level and beyond. For the first time in countless millennia, They will be serving humanity openly in the world, rather than from behind the scenes as they do now.
Without infringing mankind's freewill, Maitreya and the Masters of Wisdom will guide humanity into a future in which brotherhood, love & justice are universal keynotes.
Meaning of the word "CHRIST"
According to esoteric teachings, the word 'Christ' is not the name of an individual, but the title of an office or function within the Spiritual Hierarchy of Masters (of wisdom & compassion). The Head of this Hierarchy is known as the "Christ". The Spiritual Hierarchy is also known to some as the Society of Illumined Minds, and the Great White Brotherhood.
"He has been for two thousand years the supreme Head of the Church Invisible, the Spiritual Hierarchy, composed of disciples of all faiths. He recognizes and loves those who are not Christian but who retain their allegiance to Their Founders--the Buddha, Mohammed and others. He cares not what the faith is if the objective is love of God and of humanity... [He] has no religious barriers in His consciousness. It matters not to Him of what faith a man may call himself.
"To Him all seekers are known, and, though they may remain unaware of Him, the light which He pours forth stimulates their desire, fosters the spark of struggling life and spurs on the aspirant until the momentous day dawns when they stand face to face with the One Who by being "lifted up" is drawing all men unto Himself as the Initiator of the sacred mysteries.
"His reappearance and His consequent work cannot be confined to one small locality or domain, unheard of by the great majority, as was the case when He was here before. The radio, the press and the dissemination of news, will make His coming different to that of any previous Messenger; the swift modes of transportation will make Him available to countless millions, and by boat, rail and plane they can reach Him: through television, His face can be made familiar to all, and verily "every eye shall see Him.
"The long divorce between religion and politics must be ended and this can now come about because of the high level of the human mass intelligence and the fact that science has made all men so close that what happens in some remote area of the earth's surface is a matter of general interest within a few minutes. This makes it uniquely possible for Him to work in the future." (The Tibetan)
He will teach the Art of Self-Realization.
The first steps are:
honesty of mind,
sincerity of spirit,
and detachment.

"I have not come to create followers, each of you should continue to develop within your own religious tradition. A real disciple is one who will respect the traditions. Respect your own religions, your own ideologies, in brief, your own thoughtform, and you will experience the Master.
"Even when you see Me, do not run after Me. If you run after Me, you will lose Me. If you parade Me, you do not know who I am. I cannot be monopolized, I belong to everyone.
"...the way out of your problems is to listen again to the true voice of God within your hearts, to share the produce of this most bountiful of worlds among your brothers and sisters everywhere.
"Remember this, forget not that I come to change all things. My coming brings peace. Likewise, my presence brings cleavage. My sword, that love which I am, will separate all men, will show the true from the false, will clear the way for the new light which I bring. May it be that you can withstand this change and accept my light." Maitreya
